Budgens Stores is a well-known food retailer, primarily in in-town locations in the South and Midlands area. Budgens are extremely committed to ensuring both experienced and new managers, in store and support functions, receive training in a variety of skills. This helps to show the value Budgens place with all their employees and in turn to their customers.
On this basis Budgens Stores has been running, a now award winning, five-day management skills course for approximately 6 years. Leading Legends has been involved in supporting the training team in the delivery of this course during this time period.
Whilst the course has very clear objectives the Leading Legends trainer is able to add value to the course by using their own experiences in all aspects of management. This is focused around providing support to delegates' particular concerns and problems. A clear understanding of the business and its culture then allows the trainer to specifically relate the delegates' learning to their own situations.
The Leading Legends trainer manages all the details of the training for the week, including any issues with the venue. This allows the training team at Budgens to concentrate on other aspects of their roles, safe in the knowledge that they will not be disturbed, yet that the course will be as effective as if it was being run by their own team.
After each course feedback is provided. Only a general overview is given regarding the delegates to respect their confidentiality. However the feedback by the trainer has also led to Budgens reviewing the level and type of delegates attending the course and the venues used. In both cases this has led to cost savings for Budgens as well as assisting the focus of a company training review.
